Terms of Service

    Last updated: 18 March 2026

    Welcome to Domain Parachute ("we," "our," or "us"). Domain Parachute Limited is a company registered in England & Wales (no. 13560544). We provide .UK domain name registration, management, and monitoring services via our website.

    These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our website, services, and products ("Services"). By accessing or using our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use our Services.

    We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the revised Terms on our website. Your continued use of the Services after any changes indicates your acceptance of the new Terms. It is your responsibility to review these Terms regularly.

    Backorders

    Domain Parachute Limited is a .UK registrar and an Accredited Channel Partner of Nominet, the official registry for .UK domain names.

    We provide backordering services to acquire expiring .UK domain names on your behalf. Where we successfully secure a domain name, it will be registered in accordance with current Nominet policies.

    By using our service, you agree to comply with the latest Nominet domain name policies ("Nominet Terms"), including:

    • Nominet Terms and Conditions of Domain Name Registration
    • Nominet Dispute Resolution Service (DRS) Policy

    These policies are available on Nominet's website.

    Availability

    We cannot guarantee the availability or successful acquisition or registration of any domain.

    We are not responsible for:

    • applications rejected due to incorrect or incomplete information;
    • failed domain catches, unprocessed backorders, or delays in processing;
    • registry errors, technical failures, or interruptions affecting Nominet systems;
    • outages or failures of third-party networks, infrastructure, or service providers;
    • loss of domains caused by events or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

    Registrant Details

    Following successful registration, the domain name will be registered in the name of Domain Parachute.

    After the domain is released to your chosen registrar, you are responsible for updating the registrant details.

    Cancellation

    You may cancel a backorder via your dashboard up to five (5) minutes before the domain's expected drop time.

    Cancellation is not permitted after this time, and applicable fees will still apply.

    If the domain is renewed before the expected drop time, your backorder will be cancelled automatically. The cancellation will appear in your dashboard and no further action is required.

    Any payment authorisation will be released following cancellation.

    Expected drop times are estimates and may change without notice.

    Domain Renewal

    We do not provide domain renewal services.

    You are responsible for transferring your domain to another registrar and ensuring it is renewed before its expiry date.

    Domain Transfer

    Registrar Release

    You may release the domain to another registrar without first changing the registrant details.

    Once a domain is released, Domain Parachute no longer has control over the domain name. You are responsible for managing registrant details and domain settings through your new registrar.

    After registration, you may initiate a registrar release from your user dashboard at no additional cost.

    Registrar release may be restricted where there are outstanding payments, disputes, or account limitations.

    Registrant Transfer

    Alternatively, you may choose to use Nominet's Registrant Transfer service to change both the registrant and registrar. This process incurs an additional fee payable directly to Nominet.

    For full details on costs and procedures, please visit Nominet's transfer guidance.

    If you wish to complete a registrant transfer via Nominet, please contact Support and we will guide you through the process.

    Auctions

    An auction will take place when more than one valid backorder exists for the same domain name at the time we successfully secure it.

    Where only one valid backorder exists, the domain will not proceed to auction and will instead be allocated at the minimum backorder price of £39.

    If we do not successfully secure the domain name, no auction will take place.

    Eligibility to Participate

    You may participate in an auction only if you have placed a valid backorder for the relevant domain name.

    You must maintain an active account in good standing, keep a valid payment method on file, provide any required payment authorisation, and comply with these Terms. We may refuse, suspend, or remove bids where reasonably necessary to enforce these Terms, address payment failures, prevent fraud or abuse, or protect the integrity or operation of the Services.

    How Bidding Works

    Auctions use a proxy bidding system. You specify the maximum amount you are willing to pay, and we use this information to determine the winning bidder and the clearing price in accordance with the auction rules. The clearing price may be lower than your maximum bid.

    When placing a backorder, you agree to purchase the domain name at the clearing price if you are the winning bidder. You authorise us to charge the clearing price to your selected payment method, or any other payment method associated with your account, up to your maximum bid without further approval.

    You may revise your maximum bid or cancel your backorder up to five (5) minutes before the domain's expected drop time. After this time, your most recent valid bid is final and binding for determining the auction outcome.

    Auctions are conducted on a blind basis. Bid amounts are provided in advance and are not disclosed to participants before or during the auction. We may disclose whether a domain has attracted multiple backorders or participants, including before an auction is completed. Following completion of the auction, we may disclose the clearing price and, at our discretion, other auction-related information.

    Determining the Winner

    If we successfully secure the domain name, the winning bidder will be the participant with the highest valid bid.

    If two or more participants place the same highest bid, the earliest valid bid will be the winning bid.

    Clearing Price

    The clearing price is the final price payable by the winning bidder.

    The clearing price is calculated as the second-highest valid bid plus the applicable bid increment, provided that the clearing price shall not exceed the winning bidder’s maximum bid. Where the winning bidder’s maximum bid is lower than the calculated amount, the clearing price shall be the winning bidder’s maximum bid.

    Bid increments apply to all auctions and are calculated automatically as five percent (5%) of the second-highest valid bid, rounded up to the nearest £2.50 where the resulting price is below £100, or to the nearest £5 where the resulting price is £100 or greater, subject to a maximum increment of £250.

    Where two or more valid bids share the highest amount, the clearing price shall be that amount.

    Auction Completion

    An auction is final and binding once the winning bidder has been determined and the outcome confirmed by us in accordance with these Terms.

    If payment cannot be successfully authorised or processed, or if you fail to provide payment when required, we may cancel the allocation, and disregard your bid when determining the auction outcome.

    In such cases, we may offer the domain name to the participant with the next highest valid bid at the applicable clearing price, as determined in accordance with these Terms.

    We may also restrict or suspend your ability to participate in future auctions where necessary to protect the integrity of the Services.

    We are not responsible for losses arising from bidding strategies, missed opportunities, or unsuccessful participation.

    Cancellation or Suspension

    We reserve the right to cancel, suspend, or rerun an auction where reasonably necessary, including where:

    • technical errors or system failures affect the integrity of the auction;
    • registry actions or restrictions prevent allocation of the domain name;
    • fraud, abuse, or policy violations are suspected;
    • incorrect data, manifest errors, or processing failures occur; or
    • such action is necessary to protect the integrity or operation of the Services.

    If an auction is cancelled or rerun, we will notify affected participants and refund any payments made in respect of that auction, where applicable.

    Payments

    Payment & Invoicing

    All prices are stated in GBP (£).

    Payment is due immediately upon successful domain registration.

    A VAT invoice will be issued once we secure the domain name. We will attempt to settle the invoice and any outstanding balances using the payment method selected when placing the backorder, or any other payment method associated with your account. If payment cannot be collected, the balance will remain due and may be settled using the link provided in the invoice.

    Failure to fully settle the invoice within seven (7) days of the domain registration date may result in account restrictions, suspension of services, cancellation of the registration, or loss of the domain name.

    You remain responsible for any outstanding amounts owed to us. We reserve the right to pursue recovery of unpaid balances, including through debt collection or legal action. You may also be responsible for reasonable costs incurred in recovering those amounts.

    If a payment is disputed, reversed, or subject to a chargeback, we may suspend your account, restrict access to our Services, and prevent the transfer or release of any affected domain names. Where permitted by applicable registry rules, we may also suspend services associated with the affected domain name and take reasonable steps to recover outstanding amounts. Access to services may remain restricted until the payment dispute has been resolved and all outstanding amounts have been paid.

    VAT

    All prices include VAT where required by law. UK and EU customers are charged VAT at the applicable local rate.

    VAT shown at checkout is an estimate based on your billing location. The final VAT amount is determined at the time of invoicing by Stripe, our payment partner, based on the information you provide and applicable tax rules. The invoiced VAT amount is final and binding.

    If you are VAT registered and eligible for reverse charge, VAT may not be applied where permitted by law.

    Our VAT registrations:

    • UK VAT number: GB391398068
    • EU OSS VAT number: EU372089307

    Reverse Charge (EU VAT-Registered Businesses)

    VAT-registered businesses established in EU member states may be eligible for reverse charge VAT treatment.

    To apply the reverse charge, contact Support and provide your valid VAT number. Where reverse charge is applied, VAT will not be charged and you will account for VAT in your own jurisdiction.

    We may offer discretionary discounts to eligible business customers.

    Refunds

    Fees for successful domain registrations are non-refundable.

    By placing a backorder, you request that we begin providing our services immediately, including monitoring the domain, determining who will receive the domain name (including through an auction where applicable), and attempting to register it on your behalf.

    The service is fully performed once a domain name has been successfully registered, and any applicable right to cancel will no longer apply.

    If we are unable to secure the domain, you will not be charged.

    We may issue refunds at our discretion in limited circumstances, such as duplicate payments, billing errors, or where required to comply with legal obligations.

    Intellectual Property

    All content, trademarks, service marks, and logos on our website are owned by or licensed to Domain Parachute. You may not use them without our prior written permission.

    By submitting any content to us, you grant Domain Parachute a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify, and distribute your content as necessary to deliver our Services.

    Limitation of Liability

    To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable to you or any third party for any loss or damage arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, the Services. This includes, without limitation:

    • loss of profits, revenue, business, or anticipated savings;
    • loss or corruption of data;
    • loss of goodwill or reputation;
    • service interruptions, system failures, or inability to access data;
    • unauthorised access to or use of your account or data;
    • actions, omissions, or conduct of third parties; or
    • any indirect or consequential loss.

    We are not responsible for the acts, omissions, or failures of third-party providers, registry operators, payment processors, networks, or infrastructure on which the Services rely.

    Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law.

    To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with the Services shall not exceed the total fees paid by you to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

    User Accounts

    You are responsible for keeping your account details secure and for activity that occurs under your account. You must not use automated tools or systems to access or interact with the Services in a manner that disrupts, abuses, or circumvents normal use. You must notify us immediately if you become aware of any unauthorised access, suspected security breach, or misuse of your account.

    We are not responsible for any loss, damage, or unauthorised activity resulting from your failure to protect your account or credentials.

    Prohibited Activities

    You must not:

    1. extract or collect data from accounts or systems you do not own or do not have permission to access
    2. bypass, disable, or interfere with the Services' security or authentication features
    3. deceive, defraud, or mislead us or other users, including by impersonation or submitting false reports or information
    4. upload, transmit, or deploy malware, harmful code, or unauthorised tracking or data-collection mechanisms
    5. disrupt, overload, or harm the Services or the underlying systems or networks
    6. harass, threaten, abuse, or demean other users or our staff
    7. use the Services in a manner that violates applicable laws or regulations

    We may investigate suspected violations and take action where misuse is identified, including suspending or terminating accounts, cancelling services, or refusing transactions.

    Termination

    You may terminate your account at any time by contacting Support. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services if you breach these Terms, fail to pay fees, or where necessary to protect the security or integrity of the Services. Upon termination, your right to use the Services will end immediately, any outstanding fees remain payable, and any provisions intended to survive termination will continue to apply.

    We may retain account data where required to comply with legal and regulatory obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud or abuse, and for legitimate operational purposes.
